Some people cherish bustling daily warmth on one hand, yet yearn for quiet solitude on the other.

On House of Heartbeat Season Ⅱ, Huang Shengyi shared a romantic yet practical housing wish with designer Huang Quan: a room that need not be large, yet can hold two versions of herself.

Huang Quan builds the home with four realms: an art gallery, living room, tea room and meditation space. Using LIDI Soft Bound Series window furnishings, he sets curtains as boundaries and light as language to create freely transformable living zones.

One Room, Two Worlds: Huang Shengyi’s Multi-faceted Residence

Huang Shengyi longs for such a home: a place for joyful gatherings and instant escape into solitude. There is no need to partition spaces rigidly; flexible boundaries allow seamless shifts between liveliness and tranquility.

Designer Huang Quan deconstructs the entire space. Instead of heavy solid walls for hard division, he leverages the interplay of opacity and transparency of Soft Bound’s elegant fabric curtains to endow a single space with multiple functions.

One single curtain: drawn open, it reveals an expansive area; closed, it forms an independent sanctuary. It perfectly echoes Huang Shengyi’s residential vision of “accommodating two sides of herself”.

Living Room & Tea Room | Soft Bound Elegant Combined Curtains, Framing a Gentle Glow Within the Space

For the large L-shaped floor-to-ceiling windows of the living room and tea room, off-white fabric curtains are paired with sheer curtains.

The beige fabric carries a warm texture and effectively modulates indoor light. The outer sheer curtains are light and translucent, softening harsh outdoor daylight and letting natural light drift gently indoors.

Whether sitting quietly sipping tea in the tea room or chatting at small gatherings in the living room, the combined curtain system adjusts brightness as needed. Fitted to the large floor windows, this full set of window treatments frames the outdoor scenery like a moving painting, maintaining a relaxed, gentle domestic atmosphere throughout the public zone.

Crafting Spatial Scenes with Curtains: LIDI Reimagines the Possibilities of Space through Window Furnishings

Walls are fixed, yet curtains hold the power of transformation.

In this implemented design for House of Heartbeat Season Ⅱ, LIDI smart window furnishings are no mere soft furnishings for light blocking. Instead, they serve as spatial tools in the designer’s hands.

Fabric curtains and sheer curtains work in tandem: one creates a warm ambience, while the other forms movable soft partitions. Leveraging the interplay of light and opacity, they effortlessly open, divide or extend the space.

In a well-designed home, boundaries do not need to be rigid. With a simple draw of the curtain, lifestyles shift, accommodating different inner emotions of the dweller.
